Well... but it is not in my src ..? Indeed I'm playing with the hg code

hg update default

and in my: src/core/document.cpp
I still have:
   if (player->getDialogueId() != 0

major bugs(show stopper):
  • merchants don't' work anymore: hitting the trade option leaves me with an unfinished dialog with the skip button visible, and the trade window doesn't appear. I had to end the game to work around that. The bug remains even after a new game start, so buying/selling is actually not possible.


I've got the same problem.

Ok. I'm not sure I've updated the code,
however I realized my problem was a wrong .sumwars/resources.cfg in my home dir.

It seems to me that the file is created the first time sumwars is compiled but never updated.
I've erased it and then everything worked, but I checked the .sumwars/resources.cfg is still unchanged if I re-compile the code "in a different way"...

Happy to see the new features of sumwars.

first: please don't post in months old solved reports.
I do not understand the reason. I had a problem with sumwars so before opening a new thread I looked for someone else having my same problem in the forum. I found that in an old thread which is marked as solved. So I went there to look for the solution and ...no solution... Why should I open a new thread, I think its better to have all related stuff on a given topic in the same thread. Anyway...

second: please follow Wiki Build instructions. Either choose to run make install or run sumwars in your build directory like developers do.

Second:
Option 1: I followed the instractions of the INSTALL file which is in the repo. So I did:
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX="my_path"
make
make install
cd "my_path"/bin
./sumwars
but I got the same error again. Should  this work only if I set "my_path"=/usr/  ?
By the way the INSTALL file is a bit confusing to me. From the file
...
sudo make install

Currently, there is no make install, so you have to start the game in the directory where you compiled it.
...

Option 2: I did
make clean
cmake-gui
I hit configure, I set SUMWARS_STANDALONE_MODE and SUMWARS_POST_BUILD_COPY  with cmake-gui (how can I do that from the command line?) and I hit configure and then generate. Then I close cmake-gui
make
./sumwar
and I got the same error again.

How can I solve this.

Hi, I tryed to play again sumwars after some times but i could not.
I'm using the last "hg" version. This are the first lines of "hg log"

Hi. Maybe I'm a bit off topic, but I've got a question for you.

Currently I'm playing revision 2164 of the game. I started quite a few of revisions ago (around 1000) and at a certain point (I cannot remember which revision) some sound effects had been inserted, for example for fights. I liked them because I felt these add a new dimension to the game.

After some new revision however music had been inserted and I could not here sound effects any more... I really preferred sound effects with no music than the reverse.

My question: is this just a problem of my pc or at the moment there are no sound effects in the game and only background sound track? (I see from this topic that sound effects are in the project.)

Hi. Ok, no problem. At least is not a bug of the game.
I cannot guarantee when I'll try again next time. :-(

Maybe it could be nice to have a kind of fix appointment, so that you do not have to keep up a server for ages for no one. Something like every week-end the server will be up, IP:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:XXXXX

Another option could be, appointment in the chat every week-end.
If we are enough we can try to met in the game

Don't known if one of the two would be feasible (I don't even know if the chat works :-) and you like it. (?)

However when I click on "ok" nothing happens. Not sure if the server is still up (?)

A comment on this, for ubuntu 10.04. If you want to install CEGUI and OGRE from this repository, before make sure to un-install the standard version present in ubuntu before.
After that you can mark for the installation and install the version 1.7

If you try to directly upgrade the package manager will report you some problem...

Yes, I played with 3 characters till now (archer, warrior and mage) and I've never bought a single scroll. I always use the only one present in my inventory. I checked now (rev 2058) and everything is as usual.

Infinite number of use :-)

1 - everything goes fine, the trade window open and I can sell my items and I see items I could buy, but if I try to buy them I cannot, in no way. Sometimes when I click on the items I would like to buy random items appear in my inventory.  The problem seems to appear in revision 225

2 - For this I tried up to revision 2036 and the problem was still there.

Ok, it seems today I found out other two bugs... :-)

1 - I cannot buy objects anywhere
2 - If I go in the aisMaylonsGraveL2, after having already killed the necromancer in a previous game save, and enter the place where there is the necromancer the movies start
and then sumwars crash

If I accept the quest sumwars crash. It was working before, but after some svn up it did not anymore.

Error reported on the terminal:
