I like them again (my favorite: turn page), but please use .wav (or .flac) for sfx. When mp3/ogg/anything lossy can be avoided for sfx, they should be avoided. :)
Would you be so kind to pick what kind of licensing you're after?
This post http://www.sumwars.org/module/forum/showthread.php?tid=28&pid=90#pid90 and this one http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=369#p3980 might be of help to make a choice.

Whoops, I forgot to run them through the audio conversion application. Sorry. I've converted them to .wav, but now the files are twice as large as before... so I'll need to upload them to opengameart.org and post a link here.

Is there a way the file size limit on the forums could be expanded? I'd prefer to post the files directly to the forums if possible.

You mean that you converted the .wav files to mp3 [EDIT: the other way around of course! silly me..]? That's no good :) What you have to do is *export* them from your audio editing application as .wav. Otherwise the .wav just contains the same quality reduction that was used to enable better compression which the mp3 has, just that it's uncompressed :)
many thanks for your uploads, I added missing previews and tags.

No no, I meant convert from .mp3 to .wav.:) Garageband won't export files in the .wav format, for some reason.:dodgy:

Thanks for fixing those missing previews, I'm not quite sure what was going on there... every time I tried uploading the .mp3 (the only accepted audio preview format), safari would suddenly quit.

oh my, that's what I meant. mp3->wav and this makes no sense :)

AIFF is the official Mac lossless audio format, use that if your software gives you that option. if not, oh well - the mp3s will have to suffice. The kbps/quality should be as hight as possible.

Nobody turn this thread into an operating system war now! :D

I've created some metal and wood impact sound effects, which I've uploaded to opengameart.org. As soon as they are approved and made available on the website I'll post a link.

I am now starting in on the spell sound effects. However, as I don't know what spells are in the game, what they look like, or what they do, I'm sort of shooting in the dark right now. Basically I'm recording organic sounds and applying a carefully-measured layer of audio filters that gives the sound effect an unusual quality that makes it stand out as a 'spell sound' and not a 'cinderblock scraping over wood' sound. I was wondering if someone able to do so would be kind enough to provide a list of spells, what they do, and what they look like, so I'd have at least a general idea of what I'm shooting for. I know Lastmerlin listed some in the 'what we need' post, but I'd like to know if that's it or if there are more that weren't included. Thanks.:)

Thanks, qubodup. I appreciate that greatly.:)

So now that I have a good idea of what I'm trying to accomplish... to work!

@developers: are these videos representative of all magic spells in the game? Or are there characters/skills you can recommend me for testing? :)
